Brooklyn Invisalign, Brooklyn NY Braces, NYC Braces Orthodontist and more!
Orthodontic technology is not an ever-evolving technology; however, when strides are made, they’re large, usually severely diminishing the inconvenience of the previous standard of braces. Even in an age when it seems like everything is becoming digital, it’s hard to believe that braces could be moving in that direction as well. New technology involving digital imaging and robots is allowing orthodontists to use computers rather than pliers to move teeth into place. Typical results shave off between 30% and 40% of standard time spent in the braces.
SureSmile® technology is bound to expand greatly, especially considering it’s only roughly is roughly 10% more expensive than the traditional methodology. For now, only 100 or so practices — Dr. Yakov Eisenberger’s included — across the country utilize this new technology. We posted a video a few weeks ago about the procedure, which involves a 3-D scanning of the patient’s mouth. The orthodontist can move the teeth into place on a computer screen and the program uses the doctor’s calculations to configure the exact degrees of bends needed across the braces’ arch-shaped wire, which attaches to brackets the same way as with traditional braces.
