Brooklyn Invisalign, Brooklyn NY Braces, NYC Braces Orthodontist and more!
Those of you whose teeth aren’t 100% straight but definitely aren’t a mess have probably heard of Invisalign. If you’re not sure about whether or not you want to take advantage of it, check out some of the pros and cons below. But first, what exactly is it?
Invisalign: a series of clear, plastic teeth aligners
Pros:
You can avoid all the traditional nicknames like metal mouth and tinsel teeth
Invisalign can be removed while you eat, which will allow you to brush your teeth more thoroughly and not worry about bits of food getting trapped in the metal brackets regular braces use.
Invisalign is less painful than traditional braces, which have to be tightened for maximum effectiveness.
Cons:
The effectiveness of Invisalign rests on your shoulders. Because the aligner can be taken out, it’s more likely that you might forget to put it back in (or that you might lose it), which could have a negative effect on the overall results.
Invisalign is often more expensive than traditional braces.
If the treatment goes off track, the next aligner in the series won’t fit and a new one will have to be made, which will add to the cost.
If you’re still unsure about whether or not you want to use Invisalign, go see Dr. Yakov Eisenberger in Brooklyn. He’s one of the top orthodontists in NY.
