Brooklyn Invisalign, Brooklyn NY Braces, NYC Braces Orthodontist and more!
Pressure over time moves teeth. I once thought that if I try hard enough I can make my teeth perfectly straight by pressing my lower teeth against my upper teeth. But it didn’t work. I realized I needed braces.
After wearing braces for most of my adolescence from my Medicaid orthodontist, I figured I was done. I’d put in my time, and now I could reap the benefits by not having to worry about my teeth.
I wanted a tongue ring. It was what all my friends were doing, getting piercings and whatnot. So I got one and I’d play with it by pushing the barbel against my teeth. When I went back to my Medicaid orthodontist after a year or so, it was time for X-rays. He told me that my teeth seemed to have moved. I had begun to notice it slightly. He asked if I was wearing my retainer. I said, “Not really.” Then he looked in my mouth and asked if I play with my tongue ring by pushing it against my teeth. I said yes. He said that’s what’s accelerating your teeth movement.
Now I don’t play with my tongue ring any more. I know, thanks to my NY orthodontist, that continuous pressure can move teeth.
