Considering Adult Braces
For more than a decade now my Mother has lamented the gap in my teeth and said, “If only we had taken you to a different NY orthodontist, your teeth would look so much better.” Both of my brothers had braces, but for one reason or another the man who I went to for advisement recommended I not get them. Since then I have looked at my smile self consciously and considered getting braces as an adult. It is a decision I get closer to as I await dental coverage.
The thing is, between the regularly decreasing stigma of adult braces and the increasingly hard to pick out “invisible” braces, there are many factors moving me towards a decision to see some guidance for Orthodontics in Brooklyn NY. The prospect of straitening out my smile is actually quite inviting, not because I am regularly told that my teeth are a mess, but because when I look in the mirror it is something I fixate on.
Thankfully there is room for an adult at the orthodontist. Room that was not necessarily available a few years ago. Here’s hoping that when I finally take the plunge into braces I can finally feel confident and comfortable when I look in the mirror.
